Our Story

Gear that earned its place on the shelf

Wilderness Technology didn't start with an ad campaign. It started on the walls of independent outdoor shops across the West, where for most of a decade our dry bags and duffels were sold by people who actually used them. River guides bought them. So did hunters, weekend campers, and parents packing the car for the whole family. The gear did its job, came home muddy, and went back out the next weekend.

That's a good way to build a reputation. It's a slow way to build a brand. Plenty of people trusted Wilderness Technology gear. Most people had never heard of it.

New owners, same Utah dirt

In 2026, Doug Tolley and Roger Blohm bought the brand. The team who built Wilderness Technology stayed on as advisors, so the know-how came with the name.

Then we went to work. We visited the factories ourselves. We rebuilt the line around the gear people reach for most: heavy duty duffels, roll-top dry bags, merino base layers and sleeping bags. And we put the Wilderness Technology logo on every bag, because if it carries our name, it has to carry your gear.

Built for the Wild, Priced for Everybody!

That's our promise. Instead of passing through a chain of markups on the way to a shelf, our gear comes straight from us to you. That's how a 1050D duffel built to be thrown in a truck bed ends up priced like a gym bag.

Tested by Nature

We don't have a lab. We have rivers, trailheads, snow camps and long drives on dirt roads. If a piece of gear can't handle those, it doesn't make the line.

Live Your Wild

Live Your Wild is the reason any of this exists. Gear isn't the point. It's the thing that gets you out the door: the float trip you keep putting off, the first night in the backcountry with your kids, the hunt you plan all year. We make the gear. You go live your wild.

See you out there.
